- ➤ The District 186 school board voted in a special meeting to contract with the Illinois Association of School Boards after Jennifer Gill announced retirement effective at the end of the school year. The initial fee is $13,400 and it may rise to $50,000 — with six candidates being considered in the national executive search. Capitol City Now

- ➤ Residents in Sangamon County are asked to share their experiences with local roads via an online survey from the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission—feedback that will guide a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. - ➤ Detective Brian Harhausen was promoted to sergeant Tuesday—by Chief Joe Behl and Mayor Misty Buscher for his 18 years of service with the Springfield Police Department.
