- ➤ The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office is asking Springfield residents for help finding Kraig Hyland—a 50-year-old man who left his home on Hoover between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.—as his medical condition puts him at risk. ABC 20

- ➤ Governor JB Pritzker signed two bills in Illinois on Monday to protect cryptocurrency consumers. The Digital Assets and Consumer Protection Act lets the state supervise digital asset exchanges while the Digital Asset Kiosk Act limits fees and daily withdrawals for crypto kiosks. WYMG
- ➤ Governor Pritzker signed SB 1241 into law on August 1 to clear up how cemetery board members are chosen. The law—crafted by Springfield lawmakers Steve McClure and Mike Coffey—lets local communities decide who serves and takes effect Jan. 1. WYMG

JB Pritzker signed 266 laws in Springfield on Aug.14 and vetoed two bills, one of which would have created a nonprofit investment pool that critics say might benefit extremist groups—his decisions came amid efforts to strengthen legal defenses and safety measures. - ➤ The U.S. Justice Department has insisted that Illinois election officials hand over the state’s full computerized voter registration database including sensitive details such as driver’s license numbers and partial Social Security numbers by August 21st to ensure compliance with federal law.
