CRIME NEWS

  • David Jordan—a 70-year-old man from Gibson City—is accused of shooting at two officers early Saturday morning while naked, and his home later caught fire as the wounded officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  WYMG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Chicago Bears have drawn up plans for an indoor stadium in Arlington Heights and are urging state lawmakers in Springfield to pass a bill in October to freeze property taxes for large construction projects—officials said the measure is critical to spur initial site work this year—and to enable potential ground-breaking next year.  WYMG

  • Run, Walk, or Trot 2 Stop Blood Clots 2025 is planned later this year to teach local residents about blood clot prevention and healthy exercise—organizers will share details on registration and routes soon—.  25 News

  • UIS Athletics announced its new Director of Pawsitivity—Shelly Camburn, a 6-year-old mini goldendoodle trained through Pet Partners who will provide therapy visits to support student-athletes physically, socially and emotionally.
