Good morning, Springfield.

Springfield police said a woman died around 3:30 a.m. Saturday after a shooting on the 1900 block of Holly Drive—she was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital and authorities are asking anyone with information to call police.

An EPA Regional Administrator for Region V visited the Pillsbury Mills plant to assess cleanup progress on a silver paint coating containing 5% asbestos on the silos and headhouse — grant funds of over $3M have supported this work.

The silo cleanup is expected to finish in a few weeks — which will allow demolition and recycling of about 70,000 tons of concrete.
