- ➤ Firefighters rescued cats from an apartment fire on July 5th in Springfield after residents evacuated safely. 25 News
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Wakery, a late night coffee and non-alcoholic drink bar in Springfield, will close its doors on August 10—its owner said the business could not recover from the Adams Street fire and downtown challenges. The bar will stay open for the next month—hosting pop up events including Wakery Week of Magic from August 1 to 8 and completing any rentals booked until September 30. WAND-TV

- ➤ Springfield law enforcement responded to reports on the 1800 block of Camp Butler Road just after 7 p.m. when a resident discharged a shotgun in a wooded area—no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made. ABC 20
