JB Pritzker announced his re-election campaign on June 26 and held stops in Chicago, Rockford, Peoria, and Springfield on Thursday while planning events in Belleville and West Frankfort for today. Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton said she will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Dick Durbin while GOP chair Kathy Salvi criticized his record—calling his first two terms a failure. - ➤ City Water, Light and Power in Springfield said it needs $150 million over the next ten years to replace lead pipes but did not share a funding plan because of a legal challenge that leaves taxpayer costs unclear.
