GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A ceremony was held Friday in Springfield to honor two state troopers whose names were added to a memorial wall (Corey Thompsen died in a motorcycle crash on Oct. 18 in Champaign County and Clay Carns died picking up road debris on Dec. 23) as a tribute to their service. 25 News
- ➤ The Springfield Police Department announced today the Lights On! program, which lets officers issue repair vouchers instead of tickets for minor vehicle equipment violations like broken headlights and taillights — the vouchers, funded by a state grant, can be used at local shops for repairs up to $250. - ➤ Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul announced that a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction stopping the DOT from tying funding to immigration enforcement as part of a 20-attorney-general lawsuit - a ruling that protects billions in federal-grants for highways and safety projects in Illinois.
