Good morning, Springfield.
A family filed a lawsuit alleging that their 10-year-old special needs daughter was raped multiple times on a school bus and later at a community center in January, claiming Taylorville CUSD #3 and Durham Bus Services failed to remove the accused 14-year-old student and protect her — the suit seeks policy changes and accountability.
CWLP signed a 25-year contract with Sangamon Solar LLC to build a 100 Megawatt solar installation on 750 acres south of Chatham.
Construction will begin next year and the facility is set to send out power by 2028—following the council-approved plan.
The Sangamon County Complex opened a new first-floor courtroom today to speed up services by handling minor cases such as traffic violations, small claims, fine payments and adoption hearings—judges including Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White and Chief Circuit Judge Ryan Cadagin attended the ceremony. Officials said further renovations will add more accessible services, including a connected parking lot for easy entry.
