- ➤ On Saturday, Scheels holds a family fun day at Sportspark with free bounce houses and pet adoptions; downtown, the 17th annual History Comes Alive runs from June 4 through August 8 with live reenactments — and The Great Race, featuring antique cars, kicks off on June 20. WYMG

- ➤ Ticket sales for the Illinois State Fair in Springfield begin June 1 at the Grandstand box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.—purchasers may win free admission and parking or secure exclusive Ella Langley concert tickets, while online sales continue through Ticketmaster. The State Journal-Register
- ➤ At the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, a new exhibit on Reconstruction opens June 5. The post-Civil-war display features historic artifacts and films that trace the era’s rebuilding and its backlash, and it runs until Jan. 17. The State Journal-Register
- ➤ The Illinois State Museum has opened a new exhibit called 'Miles of Memories: Stories of Route 66' that displays vintage souvenirs, neon signs and fiberglass advertising figures in celebration of Route 66’s 100th anniversary. The exhibit is free and open daily through April 4. Capitol City Now

- ➤ Nineteen athletes and three relay teams from 15 local schools won 26 medals at the IHSA Boys State Track & Field Meet on May 30, marking a strong showing in high school sports across the community. WNNS
- ➤ Williamsville head coach BJ Halford and senior pitcher Sam Dukett led the Bullets to a 5-2 win over PORTA, winning the 2A regional championship and earning a spot in the Plains sectional on Wednesday. WNNS
- ➤ The State Journal-Register invites Springfield residents to vote for its next athlete of the week, and the poll will close at noon on Friday, June 5. The State Journal-Register
- ➤ Coriell Green won his second 1A 800m state title for Illini Central on Saturday & Auburn’s 4x400 relay team claimed consecutive wins while breaking a state record. WMAY
- ➤ Glenwood won the Regional championship Saturday after extra innings ended with a 2-1 score when Cole Woodward drilled a walk-off single. Coach Casey Erickson and Woodward discussed the win after the game. WNNS
- ➤ Pleasant Plains beat Rochester 4-1 to secure the 2A regional title when they scored in innings one, two, five & six. Drew Green earned a complete game win and the team will host the 2A sectional on Wednesday. WNNS
- ➤ The Cyclones beat Sacred Heart-Griffin 4-1 in the 3A Lincoln Regional Final after the Senators scored first; they will play Normal U High at the Mt. Zion Sectional (6:30 p.m. Wednesday). WNNS
