➤ Illinois will begin a NICU leave policy next month that gives parents 10-20 days unpaid leave for babies in intensive care - a move aimed at easing work-family challenges. Advocates say the change supports families in balancing work and care for vulnerable newborns. WYMG

➤ This May, Springfield and Sangamon County residents can boost physical and mental health by gardening at Lincoln Memorial Garden, community gardens in Enos Park or through beginner classes offered by University of Illinois Extension Sangamon County (even a small container plant can count).
