  • The Little Miracles 3k/5k Fun Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, June 21st at Washington Park Pavilion in Springfield—sponsored by CEFCU to support the neonatal intensive care unit at HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital. Participants of all ages can win medals and prizes while registration—including a t-shirt cut-off on June 4th—is open.  WYMG

  • Springfield officials warn residents not to open their doors for individuals falsely claiming to represent CWLP and offer energy savings (door-to-door sales require a peddler’s license) as recent reports indicate these scams are targeting homeowners.  WYMG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers in Springfield proposed bills to repeal a 2015 law that fines companies for boycotting Israel — the proposals are stalled in committee as lawmakers debate free speech and human rights.  Capitol City Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its All-Midwest Region teams on Friday—including catcher Ivan Dahlberg and first baseman Mark Kattula on the first team and shortstop Ethan Bowers and relief pitcher Seth Masters on the second team—for their 2025 campaign. Dahlberg and Masters were also named to the GLVC All-Tournament Team as UIS ended the season with 36 wins and 16 losses overall and 23 wins and 8 losses in conference play.  University of Illinois Springfield
  • Ben Loeffler won the boys CS8 singles tennis title for Glenwood at Washington Park on Saturday, leading the Titans to the team title — Krish and Jai Khurana won the doubles title for Springfield High.  WMAY
