EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Thirty-eight students from Lincoln Land Community College qualified to compete at the Illinois SkillsUSA State Conference in Peoria this April after earning high scores during the regional competition in February. - ➤ Illinois State Police and partner agencies announced yesterday that 73 memorial signs honoring officers killed in the line of duty will be installed along roadways—with planned sites in Sangamon County—and installations will occur over the next several months. WMAY

- ➤ The City of Springfield Utility Department’s City Water, Light, and Power won first place in the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association District 3 taste test — they will compete at the statewide event in April. - ➤ At Bolingbrook Golf Club, Elaine Grant won the individual title with 110 strokes in a rain-shortened Flyers Spring Invitational that saw play reduced to 27 holes; the Illinois Springfield team finished with a +44 score, ahead of several Division II programs, and the Prairie Stars will play in St. Louis April 12-13.
