- ➤ The College of Business and Management at UIS opened the Sean and Taryn Grant/Landmark Auto Trading Lab on Feb. 26 — adding 12 Bloomberg Terminals for students to analyze markets and earn certifications. The lab supports a student-managed investment fund and was made possible by a $150,000 gift. The State Journal-Register

- ➤ Lincoln Land Community College women's basketball team (ranked No. 10) avenged its first home loss in two years by beating Parkland College 74-61 on Feb. 25 and will host Spoon River College at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cass Gymnasium for the Region 24 Tournament. - ➤ UIS women's basketball defeated Rockhurst 97-69 at Mason-Halpin Field House, finishing a season marked by strong rebounding and 16 turnovers turned into points. - ➤ At the GLVC Indoor Championships on Sunday, Madelyn Miller-Ross broke the 3K record (9:41.03) by winning more than 13 seconds ahead of the field at the University of Indianapolis. She is within the cutoff for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships scheduled on March 13 in Virginia Beach. WNNS
