- ➤ The ongoing Wild Neighbors series features the Barred Owl, a striking nocturnal bird in Sangamon County that is heard in wooded areas during the winter; the species thrives in forests, wetlands, and suburban areas using its camouflage to hunt mammals and birds (a sign of its adaptability to local habitats). HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UI Urbana-Champaign assistant professor Christina Kamis said research shows that local factors, such as air pollution and limited access to health care & greenspaces, can make people age faster than their years suggest. - ➤ Memorial Health is expanding care in rural and suburban areas by improving service coordination and hospital capacity use, according to CEO Mandy Eaton.
