- ➤ At the Jacksonville ISD regional on Saturday, the Springfield Co-op won the team title — beating Civic Memorial 126.5 to 125.5 — as local teams competed closely. The top four teams will advance to sectionals next Friday at North Mac. WNNS

- ➤ MacArthur head coach Terise Bryson and guard Damonte Phillips said the Generals beat Webster Groves 69-58 at the Bank of O’Fallon Shootout on Saturday (Feb. 7), marking a strong team effort in a competitive game. WNNS
- ➤ Lincoln coach Neil Alexander reached his 1,000th win on Saturday, Feb. 7 when his team beat Lanphier at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium. The milestone marks nearly 50 years of his career and joins him with Illinois’ top high school basketball coaches. The State Journal-Register
- ➤ Morton defeated East Peoria to claim sole possession of first place in the Mid-Illini boys' standings, and Washington will face Morton Tuesday in a winner-take-all match for the Mid-Illini girls' title. 25 News
- ➤ Springfield High reclaimed the CS8 boys swimming title at Eisenhower Pool on Saturday, Feb. 7 — senior Riley Herr and junior Oliver Havey won individual events, and senior diver Andrew Kotner broke the school record in the one meter event. The State Journal-Register
- ➤ Former Springfield right-handed pitcher Esteban Hernandez signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves on Feb. 3 and joined the FCL Braves on Feb. 4.
