- ➤ Ameren urged customers to cut non-essential electricity use after MISO asked energy companies to promote conservation amid high demand and harsh weather. The utility offered tips to lower thermostats, unplug devices, and reduce water heater temperatures to keep the grid stable in Illinois, Missouri + across the Midwest. 25 News

- ➤ Meteorologists have issued a warning for dangerous cold and snow that could soon affect local roads. Residents are advised to dress warmly and follow updates (prepare for icy conditions) as the weather may rapidly change. 25 News

- ➤ Memorial Health Lab Specialist Lori Kirbach told WTAX that a single blood donation, whether platelets or whole blood, can help up to three patients and is vital for cancer patients needing platelets with a seven-day shelf life (donation type determines benefits). WYMG

- ➤ Lanphier defeated Springfield High Saturday, Sacred Heart Griffin beat the Lions Thursday, and Springfield High bested Sacred Heart Griffin Friday in the boys basketball city tournament, resulting in a rare three way split with each team finishing 2-1 + all head coaches shared their reactions. - ➤ The Sacred Heart Griffin Cyclones won 69-39 against Southeast to finish City Tournament play with a 2-1 record. The team, led by five players scoring in double figures, will share the title if Lanphier beats Springfield High in the nightcap. WNNS
