- ➤ Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport has applied for a pilot program to test hybrid planes powered by its solar farm (a key advantage) and may offer multiple daily flights from Springfield to Chicago. Engineers expect the program to become a reality by the end of the decade. WYMG

- ➤ Springfield will host the 2028 World Horseshoe Pitching Championships from July 17 to 29 at the new SCHEELS Sports Park air-dome.
